Overview

A private couple is in search of a skilled and detail-oriented Butler who is proficient in cooking to become a valuable member of their Household Staff team, delivering top-notch service. The main responsibilities will be focused on the Lagrangeville property, with additional help needed during the summer at the Southampton, NY residence. This position presents an enticing chance for a highly competent Butler with expertise in cooking to offer outstanding service to a sophisticated family.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with packing and unpacking for travel.
  • Provide meal and beverage service, including wine recommendations.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, monitor supplies, and liaise with vendors to ensure all ingredients and equipment are available.
  • Plan and execute menus for small gatherings and larger family events, especially during the summer months.
  • Organize household areas such as closets, pantries, and cabinets.
  • Support household events with formal service and post-event cleanup.
  • Run errands and fulfill special requests as needed.
  • Conduct personal shopping and gift selection.
  • Provide occasional housekeeping support.

work week consists of 5 days, with the option to work weekends and holidays when required by the client’s presence. Flexibility is crucial, as the schedule is subject to change depending on the principal’s requirements. From September to May, the position is live-out. From June to August, it is live-in in Southampton, NY.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years of related experience in private residences or high-end hotels.
  • Background in prestigious hotels such as Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton, The Carlyle, or Aman is highly advantageous.
  • Strong references from current and previous employers.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Positive attitude, high energy, and a strong work ethic.
  • Willing to wear a household uniform if required.
  • Valid driver’s license
