Overview

A active Upper East Side family is seeking an energetic, college-educated Nanny/Family Assistant to anchor their 10-year-old daughter’s afternoons and evenings in Manhattan—then travel with them to Sag Harbor or Palm Beach during summers and winters. This role begins with structured after-school support and seamlessly expands into a true live-with-us travel position during school breaks.

This role is perfect for you if You’re the behind-the-scenes MVP who keeps everything humming: safe, organized, and fun. You respect existing systems, anticipate needs, and bring infectious energy to a fast-paced household.

Core Responsibilities

  • School/activity pickups across Manhattan
  • Homework guidance, dinner prep/oversight, and bedtime wind-down
  • Occasional evenings and weekends
  • Rare sleepovers or full weekend coverage (always with advance notice)
  • Relocate with the family to Sag Harbor or Palm Beach for the season
  • Driving to/from gymnastics (from UES to Tribeca) or comfortable taking subways/Ubers (NYC savvy is a must)

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

All travel, accommodations, and meals covered.

Location: Manhattan (primary); summers in Sag Harbor (Hamptons); winters with frequent trips to Palm Beach Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–9:00 PM Start Date: ASAP (latest January 1)

Ideal Candidate

  • College graduate with a warm, engaging vibe
  • Proven experience with 8–12-year-olds
  • Valid driver’s license, clean record, and ease driving in NYC & the Hamptons
  • Flexible, proactive, and genuinely excited to travel
  • Available to start ASAP (or by Jan 1 latest)

Additional Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Excellent references from all previous employers
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to adhere to a consistent full-time schedule
  • Energetic, creative, and engaging when interacting with young children
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
