Overview

A warm, active family of five in San Francisco is seeking an exceptional, career-oriented ROTA Nanny to join their household long-term and care for their three engaging children: a bright 9-year-old, an energetic 5-year-old, and an active 3-year-old.

This is a true one-week-on / one-week-off ROTA position. During your “on” week you may live in or live out — a private bedroom and bathroom on a separate floor are provided when live-in. The family spends approximately half the year at their second homes in Kauai, Montana, and Tahoe. While traveling, the schedule may shift to two weeks on / two weeks off to minimize travel frequency.

The older two children attend school from 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM. The nanny must be a true team player and comfortable contributing light housekeeping or family-assistant tasks (approximately 10–15 hours per week) when the children are in school.

The household is fully staffed (housekeeper, personal assistant), collaborative, respectful, and structured. The family highly values open communication, discretion, warmth, and a positive attitude.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide loving, attentive, developmentally appropriate care for all three children (ages 9, 5, and 3)
  • Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote reading, problem-solving, curiosity, creativity, and independence
  • Manage morning routines, school drop-offs/pick-ups, packed lunches, simple children’s meals, and bedtime
  • Maintain children’s spaces (light tidying, laundry, and organization related to the kids)
  • Collaborate closely with parents, co-nanny (when on rotation), and household staff
  • Travel domestically and internationally with the family as required (valid passport and excellent swimming skills essential)
  • Ensure safety, consistency, and a joyful atmosphere at all times

Schedule

  • One week on / one week off (may become two weeks on / two weeks off during extended travel periods)
  • Live-in or live-out during your “on” week

Compensation & Benefits

  • $120,000+ gross annual salary (based on experience)
  • Health insurance provided
  • Paid vacation and holidays aligned with the “off” weeks

Requirements

  • Significant professional nanny experience with children ages 3–9 (minimum 3-5 years)
  • Prior ROTA experience and comfort with extensive travel strongly preferred
  • College degree strongly preferred (early childhood education, child development, or related field a plus)
  • Deep knowledge of developmental milestones and educational best practices
  • Excellent swimmer
  • Clean driving record and reliable vehicle
  • Valid passport and fully flexible/travel-ready
  • Ability to thrive in a fully staffed, high-net-worth household
  • Exceptional references from previous long-term families
  • Must pass comprehensive background check, DMV check, and drug screening
  • Discreet, proactive, organized, and a true team player

Location & Travel

  • Primary residence: San Francisco (Pacific Heights / Presidio area)
  • Significant time spent in Kauai, Montana, and Lake Tahoe
  • Preference given to candidates already based in the San Francisco Bay Area (family will not pay for relocation or fly nannies in/out for interviews)

This is an outstanding opportunity for a top-tier, career nanny who loves structure, travel, and being part of a collaborative team. If you are educated, energetic, warm, and truly passionate about child development, we’d love to hear from you.

Interviews are happening immediately — please apply only if you meet all qualifications and are available to start within the next 4–6 weeks.
