Overview
A private client seeks an experienced, formally trained live-in Housekeeper to maintain the daily cleanliness, organization, and impeccable presentation of their residences. The ideal candidate is polished, well-spoken, discreet, and thoroughly familiar with the standards of a sophisticated family household.
Key Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
- Comprehensive general housekeeping, deep cleaning, and organization throughout the residence
- Management and meticulous organization of closets, pantries, storage areas, and other spaces
- Ensuring the residence is always guest-ready and impeccably maintained
- Careful care and preservation of fine furniture, artwork, antiques, and valuables
- Polishing and maintenance of silver, brass, crystal, china, and other delicate items
- Laundry, ironing, and garment care
- Light cooking for the principals and occasional guests
- Daily walking and feeding of two small dogs
- Prompt response to special requests and any additional related duties
This is a full-time, live-in position with private staff accommodations provided at all family locations: New York City (NYC), Palm Beach, Florida, and Switzerland. Flexibility for seasonal travel and rotation between properties is essential.
Requirements:
- Excellent, verifiable references from current and previous private household employers (required)
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in private homes or estates (formal training preferred)
- Flexibility to work overtime and travel as needed
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Professional demeanor with the highest level of discretion and confidentiality
- Hands-on approach with a positive attitude, high energy, strong work ethic, and ability to collaborate effectively with other household staff
- Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record
- Legal eligibility to work in the United States
- Genuine love of dogs
