Overview

A warm, active, and adventurous family of five based in San Francisco is seeking an exceptional, career-oriented Rota Nanny to join their team as the second rota nanny. This is a returning LPS client with a proven track record of long-term, happy placements. The family is looking for a dedicated professional to provide long-term care for their three wonderful children: a bright and inquisitive 9-year-old, an energetic 5-year-old, and a joyful 3-year-old. This is a true rotational position (one week on / one week off), partnering with a co-nanny for seamless coverage.

During your “on” weeks, you may choose to live-in (with a private bedroom and bathroom on a separate floor) or live-out. The family divides their time between San Francisco and their second homes in Kauai, Montana, and Lake Tahoe (approximately half the year away). During extended travel periods, the rotation may shift to two weeks on / two weeks off to reduce travel demands.

The two older children attend school daily (8:30 AM – 3:00 PM). The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player who is comfortable contributing light family-assistant tasks (10–15 hours per week) when the children are at school, such as children’s laundry, meal prep, or organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver attentive and developmentally appropriate care for the three children (ages 9, 5, and 3)
  • Plan and facilitate engaging, age-appropriate activities that foster reading, problem-solving, curiosity, creativity, and independence
  • Handle daily routines, including mornings, school drop-offs/pick-ups, packed lunches, simple children’s meals, and bedtime
  • Maintain children’s spaces (light tidying, organization, and child-related laundry)
  • Collaborate effectively with parents, the co-nanny, and other household staff
  • Travel domestically (and occasionally internationally) with the family as needed
  • Prioritize safety, consistency, and a nurturing, joyful environment at all times

Schedule

  • Standard: One week on / one week off (full availability during “on” weeks)
  • Flexible adjustment to two weeks on / two weeks off during extended travel periods
  • Housing is provided for the duration of both on-duty and off-duty weeks. Candidates are free to return home or travel during off-weeks at their preference.

Compensation & Benefits

  •  (commensurate with experience)
  • Full health insurance coverage and 401K plan
  • Paid vacation and holidays (aligned with “off” weeks)

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of professional nanny experience with children ages 3–9
  • Prior ROTA experience and extensive travel comfort strongly preferred
  • College degree preferred (early childhood education, child development, or related field a plus)
  • In-depth understanding of child developmental milestones and educational best practices
  • Excellent swimming skills (essential for family activities)
  • Clean driving record and reliable personal vehicle
  • Valid passport with full flexibility for travel
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fully staffed household
  • Exceptional, verifiable references from long-term positions
  • Successful completion of comprehensive background check
  • Discreet, proactive, organized, warm, and an outstanding team player

Location & Lifestyle Highlights

Primary residence in San Francisco, with significant time spent in Kauai, Montana, and Lake Tahoe. This role is ideal for a candidate who loves the outdoors, adventure, frequent travel, swimming, and nature-based activities, and who brings a strong work ethic and positive attitude.

This is a rare opportunity for a top-tier, dedicated career nanny to join a supportive, returning LPS family, experience diverse locations, and make a meaningful impact on three thriving children. If you are energetic, passionate about child development, and excited by structure, collaboration, and travel, we encourage you to apply.
