Overview

A warm, active, and adventurous family of five in San Francisco is excited to welcome an exceptional career Rota Nanny as the second member of their nanny team.

This is a returning Lily Pond Services (LPS) family with a proven history of long, happy placements. They’re looking for a dedicated professional who loves school-aged children, thrives in a true partnership with a co-nanny, and is energized by travel, the outdoors, and a calm, structured home.

The children are a bright and inquisitive 9-year-old, an energetic 5-year-old, and a joyful 3-year-old. The two older children are in school daily from 8:30 AM–3:00 PM. This is an ideal role for someone who balances warmth and fun with real responsibility—someone confident with routines, homework support, independence-building, and keeping children’s spaces running smoothly.

The Rotation

This is a true rotational position: one week on / one week off, partnering with a co-nanny for seamless coverage.

  • During “on” weeks, you may live in (private bedroom and bathroom on a separate floor).
  • Housing is provided during on week (Fly in and out is welcomed for off week).
  • The family divides their time between San Francisco and second homes in Kauai, Montana, and Lake Tahoe—roughly half the year away.
  • During longer travel stretches (twice a year), the rotation may shift to two weeks on / two weeks off to ease travel demands.
  • When the older children are at school, you’ll contribute about 10–15 hours per week of light family-assistant support—children’s laundry, simple meal prep, and organization—so the household stays calm and well-run.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver attentive, developmentally appropriate care for the three children (ages 9, 6, and 4)
  • Plan engaging, age-appropriate activities that foster reading, problem-solving, curiosity, creativity, and independence
  • Handle daily routines: mornings, school drop-offs and pick-ups, packed lunches, simple children’s meals, and bedtime
  • Maintain children’s spaces (light tidying, organization, and child-related laundry)
  • Collaborate closely with parents, the co-nanny, and other household staff
  • Travel domestically (and occasionally internationally) with the family as needed
  • Prioritize safety, consistency, and a nurturing, joyful environment at all times

Schedule

  • Standard: one week on / one week off, with full availability during “on” weeks
  • Flexible shift to two weeks on / two weeks off during extended travel (2x/year)

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of professional nanny experience with children ages 3–9
  • Prior rota experience and extensive comfort with travel strongly preferred
  • College degree preferred (early childhood education, child development, or related field a plus)
  • Strong understanding of child development and educational best practices
  • Excellent swimming skills (essential for family life)
  • Clean driving record and reliable personal vehicle
  • Valid passport with full flexibility for travel
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fully staffed household
  • Exceptional, verifiable references from long-term positions
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check
  • Discreet, proactive, organized, warm, and an outstanding team player

Location & Lifestyle

Primary home in San Francisco, with significant time in Kauai, Montana, and Lake Tahoe. This role is a wonderful fit for someone who loves the outdoors, swimming, adventure, frequent travel, and nature-based days—and who brings a strong work ethic and a genuinely positive attitude.

This is a rare opportunity to join a supportive, returning LPS family, experience beautiful locations, and make a meaningful impact on three thriving children. If you’re energetic, passionate about child development, and excited by structure, collaboration, and travel, we’d love to hear from you.
