Overview

A warm, active and adventurous family of five in San Francisco is looking for an exceptional career Rotational Nanny to join their two-person nanny team! This is a returning Lily Pond Services family with a history of long, happy placements. They’re looking for a dedicated professional who loves school-aged children, thrives in a true partnership with a co-nanny, and is energized by travel, the outdoors and a calm, structured home.

About the Children
The children are a bright, curious 9-year-old, an energetic 6-year-old and a joyful 4-year-old. The two older children are in school from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. This role suits someone who balances warmth and fun with real responsibility and is confident with routines, homework support and building independence.

The Rotation
This is a true rotational position: one week on, one week off, alongside a co-nanny for seamless coverage. During on weeks, you may live in, with a private bedroom and bathroom on a separate floor, or live out. Housing is available during both on and off weeks, so you’re free to stay, go home or travel on your time off.

The family divides their time between San Francisco and homes in Kauai, Montana and Lake Tahoe, and is away about half the year. During longer travel stretches, about twice a year, the rotation may shift to two weeks on, two weeks off to ease travel demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, developmentally appropriate care for all three children
  • Plan engaging activities that build reading, problem-solving, curiosity, creativity and independence
  • Manage daily routines, including mornings, school drop-offs and pick-ups, packed lunches, simple meals and bedtime
  • Keep children’s spaces tidy and organized, and handle child-related laundry
  • Work closely with the parents, the co-nanny and other household staff
  • Travel domestically, and occasionally internationally, with the family
  • Prioritize safety, consistency and a nurturing, joyful environment

Schedule

  • One week on, one week off, with full availability during on weeks
  • Two weeks on, two weeks off during extended travel, about twice a year

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Full health insurance and a 401(k)
  • Paid vacation and holidays aligned with off weeks
  • Housing available throughout the rotation

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of professional nanny experience with children ages 3–9
  • Prior rotational experience and comfort with extensive travel strongly preferred
  • College degree preferred; early childhood education, child development or a related field is a plus
  • Strong understanding of child development and educational best practices
  • Strong swimmer (essential for family life)
  • Clean driving record and a reliable personal vehicle
  • Valid passport and full flexibility for travel
  • Experience working well in a fully staffed household
  • Exceptional, verifiable references from long-term positions
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check
  • Discreet, proactive, organized, warm and an outstanding team player

Location & Lifestyle
The family’s primary home is in San Francisco, and they spend significant time in Kauai, Montana and Lake Tahoe. This role is a wonderful fit for someone who loves the outdoors, swimming, adventure and nature-filled days, and who brings a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.

This is a rare opportunity to join a supportive, returning Lily Pond Services family, spend time in beautiful places and make a meaningful impact on three thriving children. If you’re energetic, passionate about child development and excited by structure, collaboration and travel, we’d love to hear from you!
