Overview

We are seeking a reliable, experienced Estate Groundskeeper / Handyman for a full-time, year-round, live-in position at a private residence in Palm Beach. This is a long-term role for someone hands-on, proactive, and trustworthy who takes pride in maintaining a property to a high standard. The ideal candidate notices what needs to be done without being asked, handles everyday maintenance and repairs confidently, and works well within an established household team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Grounds and Exterior

  • General care and upkeep of the grounds and property exterior
  • Light landscaping: planting, trimming, watering, and irrigation monitoring
  • Maintenance of patios, walkways, outdoor furniture, pool areas, and garages
  • Pressure washing and general exterior cleaning

Maintenance and Repairs

  • Basic handyman work, including minor repairs, painting, touch-ups, caulking, and light carpentry
  • Identifying maintenance issues and addressing or reporting them before they become larger problems
  • Maintaining tools, equipment, storage areas, and maintenance supplies

Vehicles and Errands

  • Washing, fueling, and helping maintain household vehicles
  • Driving for errands, service appointments, pickups, and other household needs
  • Grocery, hardware, and supply runs

Household Support

  • Receiving deliveries and helping move or set up furniture and equipment
  • Providing access to and helping oversee landscapers, pool companies, contractors, and other vendors
  • Preparing the property for family arrivals, guests, and entertaining
  • Setup and breakdown for occasional parties, dinners, and events
  • Seasonal and holiday decorating, including setup, storage, and removal
  • Storm and hurricane preparation and post-storm cleanup
  • Supporting the House Manager and other household staff as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in private estates, groundskeeping, property maintenance, handyman work, or a similar role
  • Proactive, observant, organized, and able to work independently
  • Skilled with basic hand and power tools
  • Able to work outdoors in South Florida weather, lift approximately 50 lbs, and perform physical work as required
  • Comfortable around and good with dogs
  • Professional, discreet, and respectful of the family’s privacy
  • Positive attitude and able to work well with household staff and vendors
  • Clear English communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Strong professional references and ability to pass a background check
  • Flexible for occasional weekends, holidays, events, and changing household needs

Private accommodations are provided on the property. Compensation and benefits are competitive and based on experience and qualifications.
