Overview

A private family seeks to hire an experienced Estate Manager to support the management of their formal estate in the DC Metro Area. The ideal candidate will be a team player, with a “can-do” and upbeat attitude, and experience working in formal settings while providing white-glove service to their principals. Must be able to oversee the overall interior and exterior of the residence, handle anything that is needed, and support Mr. and Mrs. and guests. Must be local to the area and be able to lead a team of employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee of the interior of a formal household
  • Managing the interior household team (Housekeeper team)
  • Managing and creating staff schedules
  • Assist with interior maintenance: Making sure everything is set perfectly before the family’s arrival
  • Assist with keeping track of any repairs or maintenance issues within the residence
  • Conducting inventory procurement of all household supplies as needed, including grocery shopping, personal, and floral arrangements
  • Oversee any vendors for interior repairs
  • Assist with any special events, and parties
  • Oversee interior renovations and construction projects
  • Manage interior/exterior vendors onsite – communicate/correct problems (as needed)
  • Help with simple tech support (Wi-Fi, sound systems and smart TVs)
  • Providing excellent service to principals and guests
  • Detail review of invoices and maintain home manual, and assist with budget 

Schedule: 5 days per week. Monday – Friday (9-5) Weekends (as needed). Benefits: Health benefits + full benefits package available (vacation, holiday pay, 401k and other perks)

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years related experience working and supporting private estates
  • Excellent references from both current and previous employers
  • Adept in managing and supervising household staff
  • Prioritize executive tasks and multi-task effectively
  • Must have experience/training in formal service
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in all areas of Microsoft Office and Mac OSX and related programs
  • Professional mindset and the utmost discretion
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
  • Career, experienced property management professional with expertise managing high-end estates 
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check
