Overview

A Southampton – 18,000-square-foot beachfront mansion seeks an experienced and detail-oriented House Manager to oversee the successful operation and maintenance of their residence. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Complete oversight of three households; ensuring consistency of standards, procedures and services
  • Supervising construction and renovation projects; liaising with architects, designers, outside vendors and contractors
  • Managing a collection of fine art and antiques; handling storage, shipment, selling, and procurement
  • Maintaining all household calendars; scheduling household services and providing prior notification to principals
  • Creating household manuals; overseeing hiring, training and supervision of any additional household staff, including a team housekeepers, chefs, drivers, and nannies
  • Acting as point of contact and gatekeeper for principals
  • Overseeing financial management
  • Planning and executing special dinners and events; experience with floral arrangements and high-end event planning a plus
  • Assisting with any additional care of family, including children (teenagers)
  • Must be able to drive children to and from activities and events
  • Handling any special requests, related duties or errands

 

This is a full-time position. A private cottage is offered for living accommodations. Salary is generous but DOE.

 

Requirements

 

  • A minimum of five years of relevant work experience managing private residences
  • Outstanding references from both current and previous employers
  • Adept in managing and supervising household staff
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team, “hands on” as necessary
  • Demonstrate an understanding of complex physical house systems including “smart home” systems
  • Understands that the utmost in confidentiality and discretion is required
  • Strong analytic, communication and management skills
  • Flexible scheduling with availability to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Valid driver’s license a plus; clean driving record
  • Able to work legally in the United States
