Overview

An experienced and detail-oriented housekeeper is needed to oversee the cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of a UES, New York City, seven-floor townhome for a private family. This role requires exceptional organizational skills and hands-on support in all aspects of household care, including working collaboratively with other household staff. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional housekeeper to join a private household, bringing a proactive, meticulous approach to ensure the family’s residence is consistently maintained to the highest standard.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all aspects of general housekeeping, including deep cleaning of bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas; vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing, garbage disposal, bed-making, and organizing spaces.
  • comfortable navigating tech/smart home
  • EXCELLENT serving, cleaning, deep cleaning and organization skills
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team with the Family Assistant/Nanny and other housekeepers.
  • Manage laundry, including washing, ironing, and caring for delicate fabrics and stained clothing, especially children’s garments.
  • Handle wardrobe management, including seasonal organization and proper storage.
  • Oversee organizing projects and create efficient storage solutions.
  • Assist with travel packing and unpacking.
  • Handle special requests, errands, and related duties as needed.
  • Be comfortable working in a household with four children in residence 50% of the time.

The workload may vary depending on the number of children present, ranging from heavy to light. The perfect candidate must possess the vitality and resilience to adapt to both situations. Compensation: $40 – $45 per hour, with overtime pay included. The salary will be determined by the candidate’s capabilities and relevant experience. After 3 months of employment, a healthcare reimbursement of $70/week is available. Employees are granted 15 days of paid time off.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience in a Private Residence
  • Utmost sense of confidentiality and discretion
  • Excellent references from current and previous employers
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal (English)
  • Professional, polished, and poised at all times
  • Hands-on with a good attitude, high energy, strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Flexibility in schedule with availability to work overtime and weekends as needed
