A private couple seeks to hire an experienced  houseman. The ideal candidate will be a team player, with a “can-do” and upbeat attitude, and hands on. Must be self-motivated, self-driven, no job is too big or too small, very hands-on, and willing to go above and beyond to get the job done.  A handyman/ general repair contractor background would be ideal for this position along with being meticulous for detail. Responsibilities for this role are as listed below:

Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee and support with property management, and maintenance of the interior and exterior of the residence.
  • Work alongside the Estate manager, and Senior Groundskeepers
  • Assist with exterior maintnence (80%) interior maintenance (20%) 
  • Responsible for upkeep, maintenance, repairs, and emergency response for all building structures from sheds, garages, greenhouses, and homes, to walls, woodwork, furniture, pool, gate, generators, landscape lighting, and equipment
  • Help with simple plumbing, painting, tech support (Wi-Fi, sound systems, and smart TVs)
  • Providing excellent service to principals and guests
  • Committed to the highest quality work ethic
  • Team player. Collaborative. Creative thinker and problem solver. Dedicated and loyal to nuances of the position
  • Assist with the preparation of year-round programming including huricane preperation and managment
  • Perform daily rounds of the estate, focusing on the safety & security of Principals and staff.

Schedule: Standard work schedule Monday – Friday (40 hours) 9am-5pm

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years related experience working and supporting private estates
  • Excellent references from both current and previous employers
  • Adept in managing and supervising household staff
  • Prioritize executive tasks and multi-task effectively
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Professional mindset and the utmost discretion
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
  • Must be able to work as part of a household team
  • Handyman/Repair experience in estates 
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid US work authorization
