Overview

A private family in Palo Alto is seeking an experienced, warm nanny and family assistant to care for their 7-year-old daughter. This is a Monday–Friday position of 40–55 hours per week. The final schedule will be set together with the right candidate, and someone looking for around 45 hours a week would be an ideal fit. The household favors a calm, relaxed rhythm over rigid structure. The ideal candidate is a natural self-starter who notices what needs doing and follows through without being asked. The family’s daughter thrives with someone playful, encouraging, and genuinely engaged, so a warm, energetic, fun-loving personality will fit right in.

  • Keep her bedroom and play spaces tidy and handle her laundry
  • Communicate openly with the parents about routines, milestones, and daily updates

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional nanny experience; early childhood background strongly preferred
  • Norland or similar early years training welcome
  • Strong knowledge of age-appropriate enrichment and developmental activities
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
  • Enjoys meal planning and simple cooking, especially vegetarian meals (a plus, not required)

    Requirements

    • Degree in Education
    • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
    • Valid passport and willingness to travel domestically and internationally
    • Comfortable with a dog and around a pool
    • Available to start as soon as possible
