Overview

A private couple in Southampton, NY is seeking to hire an experienced seasonal Housekeeper who is professional, presentable, and works well with a team. The ideal candidate should have experience and expertise in laundry and closet organization, including separating dry cleaning from basics and folding and organizing clothes correctly. They should also be skilled in kitchen and refrigerator organization and able to assist the chef in the kitchen.

Responsibilities:

  • Dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning all surfaces
  • Overseeing general support with laundry and organizing closets
  • Deep cleaning and organizing bathrooms
  • Must be comfortable working around dogs
  • Occasionally assisting the chef with preparing food and vegetables, etc.
  • Providing excellent service to principals and guests
  • Hands-on care for furniture; polishing fine surfaces, silver care & maintenance

Schedule: June 1st – November 1st, 2024, 5-day work week (40 hrs). Sunday and Monday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM. Friday and Saturday off. If the principals are out of town, 8:00-4:00 M-F.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of related work experience in a Private Residence
  • Utmost sense of confidentiality and discretion
  • Excellent references from current and previous employers
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal (English)
  • Professional, polished, and poised at all times
  • Hands-on with a good attitude, high energy, strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Flexibility in schedule with availability to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Valid Driver’s license
