Overview

A private couple seeks a talented chef to prepare daily meals for them and their family in the Hamptons for the summer season. The ideal candidate will have excellent longevity in previous positions and will be experienced in creating a variety of exquisite, seasonal cuisines for the principals.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Must be friendly, easy going and willing to work with a household team
  • Creating daily healthy and fresh meals for family; organic & seasonal
  • Menu planning and execution; includes religious gatherings, fundraisers, family dinners, etc.
  • Weekly collaborative menu planning with the family making sure that previous meals have been to their liking and taking any feedback
  • Daily preparation for lunch and dinner
  • Procuring all kitchen supplies, including groceries and any other item as needed; maintaining detailed inventory lists
  • Sanitation and organization of the kitchen (refrigerator, pantries, drawers, etc.), including post-event clean up

May 18, 2023 to September 30, 2023. Schedule: Wednesday to Sunday support in Sagaponack, NY. 5 days a week, with Monday and Tuesday off. Breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday only, and additionally on holidays. Otherwise, it’s just lunch and dinner service. 2 people through July 4th except on weekends there will be 6 people. July 4 until the end of the summer its 6 people except on 2 weekends when there will be an additional 4 people. Maximum of 10 ever, no parties, it’s a low-key private family compound. 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of related experience working as a Private Chef
  • Culinary Degree from an accredited College or Culinary Institution
  • Excellent references from both current and previous employers
  • Energetic, creative, and versatile
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Polished, professional, and poised
  • Utmost sense of discretion and professionalism
  • Flexible to work some weekends
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Valid US work authorization
