Overview
We are seeking a Temporary Nanny for a young, active family with three children (ages 1, 3, and 6) during their winter and spring stay in Aspen, Colorado. The family is looking for a proactive, self-starting nanny who takes initiative and can confidently manage the children’s afternoon routine. The role calls for someone warm, engaging, and capable who loves working with children and takes pride in being an integral part of a family’s day-to-day life.
Responsibilities
Primary Childcare Duties
The family has separate housekeeping support, so this role is focused primarily on the children and creating a fun, smooth, and well-organized afternoon for them. The Nanny will walk in the door each afternoon, take ownership of the children’s routine, and keep things moving without needing to be micromanaged. Specific duties include:
- School pick-up using the family vehicle.
- Preparing meals and snacks for the children.
- Engaging the children in fun, age-appropriate activities.
- Keeping the children’s belongings and spaces tidy.
Additional Responsibilities
- Occasional date-night coverage.
- Assisting with school drop-off when available.
- Helping with the children’s laundry (a plus, not required).
Dates: January 5 – May 27, with a possible extension to June 4
Schedule: 30 guaranteed hours per week, 4–5 days per week (up to 35 hours for the right candidate)
Reports to: Parents
School drop-off is at 8:15 am and pick-up is around 3:15 pm; availability at those times is ideal. Weekly hours are guaranteed, and the family asks for flexibility in return, as their schedule may shift from week to week.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experienced nanny who is comfortable caring for an infant, a toddler, and a school-age child.
- Proactive and self-directed, with the ability to run the afternoon routine independently.
- Playful and engaged with children while remaining organized and dependable.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; comfortable driving the children in the family vehicle.
- Flexibility to accommodate schedule changes and occasional evenings.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to pass a comprehensive background check.
Compensation & Benefits
This is a temporary, part-time position with guaranteed weekly hours. A family vehicle is provided for work-related driving.
Pay rate is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
