Overview

Private Family seeks two rotating full-time Governess’  for their four school aged children. The Nanny will provide a safe, caring, nurturing and stimulating environment in which the children can thrive and develop. The successful candidate will have extensive childcare experience, educated in tutoring the children when needed and assist with Homework. The candidate will also exhibit good judgment, emotional maturity, flexibility and adaptability. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with daily care, supervision and education of children while creating a safe, nurturing environment
  • Coordinating schedules and activities; includes scheduling appointments, etc.
  • Taking children to and from school, appointments, activities, etc.
  • Assisting with homework, projects, tutoring, etc.
  • Preparing fresh, healthy meals for kids when the cook is off
  • Conducting inventory and procuring household supplies, including grocery shopping
  • Family Assistant duties would include: greeting guests, liaising with vendors and contractors, assist with scheduling and travel arrangements, calendar management, light home administrative work, assisting with phone and e-mail correspondence, assisting with event planning and execution, etc.
  • Running errands and carrying out special requests

 

This is a full-time, live-in position. Salary is generous but DOE. Separate living accommodations offered; A private cottage is offered on the Estate for the Governess’. Please note if you are local on Long Island live-out is an option with a regular schedule yet you will be asked to live-in part-time over the summer in the Hamptons.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years related private home experience
  • Must be certified in ­­­­­­­­­­­­CPR (infant and child) as well as general knowledge of first aid
  • Excellent references from both current and previous employers
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be very active, energetic and be able to switch gears very quickly
  • Fluent in English with exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven childcare experience
  • Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
  • Professional, polished and discreet
  • Exceptional judgment skills and multitask management
  • Able and willing to travel with the family
  • Exceptional dedication to responsibilities; team player, above and beyond attitude
  • Legally able to work in the United States
  • Driver’s license and safe driving record
